Dear Colleagues,
good news from Hamburg: the beamline P01 at PETRA III devoted to 50 % to nuclear resonance scattering is on a very good track. Attached I am sending you a User Letter by Hans Christian Wille and Volker Schünemann.
All those of you who plan to use nuclear resonance at PETRA III in Hamburg should contact Hans Christian Wille as the beamline scientist responsible for P01 in order to discuss the possibilities to perform nuclear resonance experiments in 2011.
Dear Professor Trautwein, dear Ali:
it gives me a great pleasure to congratulate you, the distinguished member of the international Mossbauer community, on the occasion of your 70th birthday and also to thank you for your exceptional contribution to Mossbauer spectroscopy.
I would not even attempt to enumerate all fields and topics you have touched and, in many cases, initiated so far during your scientific career. Starting in Saarbrucken, in Uli Gonser’s group with studies in ferroeletrics and other subjects of this institute, you moved to Lubeck in 1980 to serve at the University as a professor and director of the Institute of Physics but also as the dean of the faculty and later prorector and rector of the university.

Subject: ISIAME2012
Dear Colleagues
As all of you know, during ISIAME08 in Budapest the decision was made for ISIAME 2012 conference to be held in Asheville under the Professor John Stevens leadership. However, last summer, the University of North Carolina at Asheville made the decision to close MEDC, precluding also any possibility to host ISIAME 2012.
