Dear all,
during the annual ESRF User Meeting 6 - 8 February 2017
(http://www.esrf.fr/UM2017) we will organize a one day
Nuclear Resonance Tutorial:
“Nuclear Resonance Applications including hands-on practicals”
(see http://www.esrf.fr/UM2017/Tutorials)
During the tutorial we will put the main emphasis on our Synchrotron
Moessbauer Source, i.e., on 57Fe MB spectroscopy (transmission and
grazing incidence scattering geometry) in the energy domain. We
are pleased to have R. Brand with us for the data evaluation with
the NORMOS program.

Dear Colleagues,
We would like to invite you to participate at the International Conference on the Applications of the Mössbauer Effect (ICAME2017) which will take place in St. Petersburg, Russia September 03-08, 2017.
The main topics of the Conference will be:

T05 Chemistry
T06 Earth Science and Mineralogy
T07 Cultural Heritage and Environmental Science
T08 Coherent Phenomena
T09 Lattice Dynamics and Vibrational Properties
T10 Experimental Techniques and Methodology
Dear Libor
Thank you very much for your email below - makes the effort put into ensuring that we had a sceintifically sound and socially enjoyable conference worthwhile.
I hope that in four years time I will be in good enough health to come to your institute for the next ISIAME meeting.
Kindly convey my good wishes to Professor Mashlan.
My best regards

Dear Frans and Krish,
I would like to thank you for nice realization of the ISIAME2016 symposium. I
very enjoyed scientific as well as conceptual discussions. The trips in Cape
Town and close surroundings were also very interesting.
Have a nice day!
Best regards,

Dear colleague,
every second year, following the succession of the ICAME conferences, the International Board on the Applications of the Mössbauer Effect (IBAME) calls for nominations for two awards to recognize significant research achievements involving applications of the Mössbauer effect:
(1)the IBAME Young Scientist Award for researchers up to the age of 35, for high quality contribution to science based on research that involves application of the Mössbauer Effect and
Dear Frans and Krish
Back home I would like to thank both of you for allowing, despite the great difficulties, the realization of ISIAME'16 Conference. This will allow the continuation of this series of conferences, which will see the next organized in 2020 in the Czech Republic by Libor Machala.
The party organized at iThemba labs by Krish was very interesting, pleasant and helpful. I really enjoyed the conference, for the interesting scientific contributions, discussions, proposals and decisions, as well as the excursion to Cape Point.
Dear Frans and all friends,
I am so sorry to report to all of you that I had to cancel my trip to ISIAME
at last minute. Originally, I have booked the same flight of Junhu and will
arrive in Capetown today. However, I obtained an announcement from the
headquarters of Chinese Academy of Sciences on Friday. As the director of
DICP, I was asked to attend an important meeting in Beijing next
Wednesday……
Thanks to Frans and your team for your hard work on the preparation of ISIAME
2016. I do hope all friends will have a successful ISIAME and enjoy a good
time in capetown!
Dear all I trust all systems go and that those that are on their way to South Africa are ready for the ISIAME 2016. Some general comments The programme that has been sent out some time ago, stays more or less the same - one or two people can’t come anymore thus there will be ample time for the talks and posters session. Every registered person will get a hard copy of the abstract/programme book that will be handed out at registration Also remember that all full papers will have to be uploaded onto the web page as instructed under the ISIAME web heading: Proceedings The welcome function on Sunday afternoon is at the iThemba labs and a bus will collect the delegates at the Townhouse hotel. Raquel Richardson and myself will be available to assist Weather forecasts for Monday to Thursday show rain and we hope the Tuesday trip will however be nice. The weather is very unpredictable in the Cape and one can get 4 seasons in one day. I rain coat is often better than an umbrella as the wind can blow in gusts Various questions were asked about transfers to the hotels and I am adding the info that is on the ISIAME web again to ensure everyone can get to the venue easily Our Tuesday tour: A rough summary is added and we trust it will work out fine. Raquel and mmyself thought of a relative “cheap” lunch in Simonstown which will fit into our budget, but this is open and we will decide when everyone is there The Peninsula Clifton & Camps Bay Twelve Apostles Mountain Range Llandudno Hout Bay Chapman’s Peak Drive Noordhoek Ostrich viewing Cape Point Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve Penguin colony (optional) Simons Town Kalk Bay Muizenberg False Bay
The Wine Route Stellenbosch orientation Wine tasting Cellar Tour Opportunity to purchase wine Cheese-tasting Excludes: Lunch (will be decided on) Drinks (except 2 bottles of water per person) Entrance fee: Table Mountain and Penguin Colony. I trust it will be a fantastic symposium Frans _TRANSFER OPTIONS
