International Board on the Applications of the Mössbauer Effect

Ralf Röhlsberger, Hans-Christian Wille, Kai Schlage and Balaram Sahoo report on the first observation of an electromagnetically induced transparency with resonant nuclei in a cavity. In an experiment performed on a thin-film cavity, The authors have demonstrated that the radiative coupling of the nuclear ensembles by the cavity field establishes the atomic coherence necessary for the cancellation of resonant absorption.
